Vaio Laptop Battery
How do I know when my Vaio laptop battery should be replaced?
Typically a notebook battery should be replaced when it holds less than 50% of it's full charge. In other words, if your notebook battery lasted for 4 hours when you first purchased it and now a full charge only gets you 2 hours of usage it's probably time to start thinking about replacing it. Laptop batteries are extremely easy to replace and generally not that expensive, in fact I like to buy two laptop batteries and keep one as a spare.
Getting the most out of your Sony Vaio laptop battery

To get the best performance out of your new Vaio laptop battery you should condition it from the start. No matter what the manufacturer claims, all batteries have a memory. If you only charge your laptop battery 50% of full, the battery will begin to perform only up to 50% of capacity, likewise if you always charge your battery when it's at 50% (instead of waiting until it's fully drained) your battery will begin to only take a 50% charge. To get the most out of your new battery make sure to fully charge, and fully drain, your battery the first three times you use it (if possible). After the first three times charging and using your battery the battery should be conditioned to take a full charge for the duration of it's life.
